Dr. Raigina Preston DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Preston is a board-certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has 20+ years in the medical field, starting as a registered respiratory therapist in 2000 before transitioning into nursing in 2007.
Dr. Raigina Preston DNP first obtained her associate’s in nursing, followed by her bachelor’s in nursing from Clayton State University. She primarily worked in the intensive care setting in large institutions before pursuing graduate studies. Her up-close experience with mental health was the catalyst that sparked her concentrated interest in her current specialty. Consequently, she obtained her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2013, specializing in mental health. She later received the terminal degree of nursing, the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, in 2018 from Chamberlain University.
Since becoming a Family Psychiatric Mental Health nurse practitioner, Dr. Preston has gained extensive experience working in a wide range of practice settings, including private practice, community mental health, homeless services, correctional services, and addiction. She has treated and continues to treat a broad range of disorders from depression to schizophrenia to substance abuse in children/adolescents to adults.
Dr. Preston’s schooling and clinical experiences equip her with the needed skillset to provide holistic, quality, individualized, evidence-based care. Her overarching goal is to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with her clients to achieve and sustain overall mental and physical wellness to become their BEST selves.
