A Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who has graduate/master’s level education. This level of education enables APRNs to practice in various health care settings. Nurse Practitioners can Assess, Diagnose, and Prescribe medications. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners specialize in providing mental healthcare to patients.

What is holistic care?

Holistic care focuses on the whole body versus individual parts of the body and sees the person rather than the disease. This type of care aims to correct imbalances in a person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual life to achieve overall health.

Best You MCH takes pride in providing holistic care.

What to expect during the initial evaluation and subsequent follow-up appointments?

During the initial evaluation, the provider and client will work towards establishing a therapeutic relationship. The provider will ask psychosocial and symptomology questions that will result in a treatment plan and goal setting garnered by all involved persons.

Follow-up appointments focus on medication and lifestyle management and brief therapy. Additionally, treatment plans are updated, and goals may be reset.

Therefore, it is essential that clients are open and honest during all sessions. We understand that some questions may make you feel uncomfortable and may appear to be probing, but all questions asked are pertinent for treatment planning and goal setting. Therefore, Best You MHC promises to provide a safe and compassionate environment for each client.

Is lifestyle management essential to mental health?

A healthy lifestyle is a critical aspect in promoting mental health. Consistency in lifestyle choices such as regular exercise, healthy eating habits, good sleep routines, avoiding recreational drug use and excessive alcohol intake, and maintaining healthy social relationships contribute to an improvement in mental health.
